In 2008 a pilot project was launched with Nitro Snowboards in collaboration with “www.lokalisten.de” to exploit the social network in order to win new groups of customers.
The campaign was advertised in the course of a prize draw via the portal and by newsletter to all registered Nitro consumers with a newsletter opt-in.
The result: about 2,000 new members in 2 weeks, rapid exchange involving group members and great interest in the prize draws.
The Nitro Family now has over 6,000 registered members on Lokalisten.

Thomas Federkiel soon realised how important the quality of the customer database is for efficient dialogue marketing. The former marketing student wrote his thesis about Nitro Snowboards and visited the company at its German site in Hofolding, Bavaria. There, in an old farmhouse, the entrance was completely full of Nitro catalogues, all returns. Federkiel could not get this image out of his mind. When he set up his own marketing agency later, he suggested to Nitro that all the existing customer data be transferred to a high-performance database and the entire dialogue marketing system be set up on this basis.
